This guide contains the James P. Boyce Library's policies for the circulation of item, fines, distance students, Interlibrary Loan, and use of the building.


The James P. Boyce Centennial Library operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 7 p.m.

  • SBTS or government-issued ID are required for entry.


  • All SBTS students, faculty, staff, and other personnel are required to have a Shield Card to enter the library.
  • All SBTS students, faculty, staff, and other personnel are required to have their Shield Card on their person at all times while on-campus per the Employee Handbook (§E.2).
  • Other members of the community must present a government-issued ID to enter the library.
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult who meets the above requirements.


  • All patrons are required to access the library through the main front doors.
  • Patrons with a disability are permitted to access the library through the rear doors by ringing the bell next to the loading ramp. From there, patrons may access the ground floor directly or use an elevator.


Archives is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, contact via email or call (502) 897-4573.
