Borrowing Items

The Library bookstacks are closed to patrons. In order to check-out an item, place a hold on it. When the item is ready for pick-up at the circulation desk, you will receive an email notification.

Don't be confused by the red circle!   

It just means that our book stacks are closed to help protect our patrons from potentially spreading COVID-19.

1. Just click on the item(s) you want and place a hold request.  We'll gather them for you!

2. When they are ready to pick-up, we'll send you an email.  Easy.

If the hold button is missing from the item details (e.g.), it doesn't circulate.  Place a Scan Request (see below) for the sections you need.

Returning Borrowed Items

All items must be returned through the outside book-drop located to the left of the Library main entrance.  Please do not return items to the Circulation Desk.

  • You are responsible for the postage and safe return of all books.
  • You are responsible for lost and damaged items and subject to replacement and processing fees. 
  • Items will be considered returned according to the date they are postmarked.
  • It is recommended that you insure and track your package.

All returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours. Your Library account may not reflect your returns during that period. However, late fees incurred because of the quarantine period will be waived since we will backdate the check-in to the return date.

Copy, Print, Scan

Patrons should clean the copier keypad before and after use. Cleaning supplies will be provided.

Course Reserves

We are unable to offer course reserves at this time. If you need a book for a class and it is currently checked out, place a hold on that item.

Reference Help

The Research Hub has been relocated to just outside the Reference room. If no one is available to answer a question, visit the Library website to fill out the Ask-a-Librarian form, and a librarian will answer your questions as soon as possible.

Scanning Requests

The Library can fulfill scans of items we own (if not on-loan) and items borrowed through Interlibrary Loan (if we are able to fulfill the request). Scans are subject to copyright restrictions—only 10% or one chapter of a book may be requested.
